Job summary

LGC ASSURE, part of the Informed family within the LGC Group, seeks a Technical Manager to oversee certification activities and provide leadership across global programs. The role ensures adherence to accreditation standards, quality, and regulatory expectations while supporting continuous improvement of standards.

Qualifications include a degree in a relevant field, strong GMP knowledge, and experience with audits and certification procedures.

  • Manage auditors, including recruitment support, objective setting, training, and performance management.

TheTechnicalManageris responsiblefortheoverall technical and operationaloversightofcertification activitiesassociatedwith the Informed family of certification programs.Theroleensuresthat all certification activities are conducted in compliance withestablished certificationrequirements, certification scheme rules, and internal procedures, whilesupportingongoing quality and compliance initiatives. The position provides leadership, guidance,and trainingto auditorsto ensureimpartiality, competence, and consistencyin certification outcomes.Additionally, the Technical Manageris responsibleforthedevelopmentand continualimprovementof newand existing standards.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to capably perform each of the following essential duties:

  • Business Impact:Ensure consistent,accurateand compliant day-to-day execution of certification activities in alignment withrelevant accreditation standards. Maintain program integrity over time through scheduled evaluations, training and continuous alignment with evolving standards and regulatory expectations.Provide technical leadership in the resolution of complex certification cases byparticipatingin technical review forums, as needed.Supportthe organization’s broader service portfolio bycontributing tothedevelopment,maintenanceandevolution of internally owned, non-accredited standards.

  • Innovation & Change:Exercise independent judgment in driving innovation and change across certification processes, proactivelyidentifyingand implementing improvements.Interpret certification standards and regulatory requirements to define,draft,implement andmonitorprocedures and SOPs.

  • Type of Work:The roleoperatesatactically with hands-onactivities (e.g. audit oversight, report review, certification decisions,procedure & policycreation,auditortrainingand guidance) which focus on ensuringcertificationdecisionsareaccurate, consistent, and compliant withrelevant accreditation standards. The roleoperatesstrategically(e.g.technical input and recommendations, technical policy setting, risk management, capabilitybuilding) tohelp shape the long-termcreditability, scalability, and relevance of thecertification programs.

  • Key Stakeholders:Internal and external stakeholders across both regional and global environments. Internally, the role works cross-functionally with auditors, Quality, and senior leadership to ensure consistent and compliantcertificationactivitiesin accordance withrelevant accreditation standards.Externally, the role interfaces with client organizations, accreditationbodiesandregulatory and standards-setting organizations (e.g. for alignment,interpretationand representation).

  • Communications:Effectively collaborate and communicate with all stakeholderstofacilitatesuccess of businessobjectives.

  • People Management:Directly manage the performance,developmentand day-to-day priorities of auditors, including recruitment support, objective setting, training & competency development, and ongoing performance management.

  • ProcessOversight:Design, implement and oversee the consistent and compliant execution of certification processes to ensureaccurate, impartial, and defensible outcomes in alignment withrelevant accreditation standards.

  • Subject Matter Expertise:Strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality management systems applicable to food, pharmaceutical and/or dietary supplements, including familiarity with internationally recognized guidelines and the ability to apply these requirements within a certification and conformity assessment context.

  • Continuous Improvement:Develop, implement, and continuously improve certification procedures, technical policies, audit protocols, and supporting tools to ensure scalable, efficient, and effective program delivery.Contribute to the periodic review and refinement of non-accredited standards byidentifyingand implementingimprovement opportunitiesaligned withindustry trends.

  • Data & Metrics:Reports on certification metrics and audit outcomes, including nonconformity trends, turnaround times, and auditor consistency.

  • Degree (or equivalent combination of relevant education and applicable work experience) in a relevant field.

  • Demonstrated knowledge ofrelevant quality standardsand conformity assessment principles.

  • Prior experience inrelevant industries,e.g.application of standards in a certification bodyand/or standards development and management.

  • Knowledge and awarenessof the Informed standards.

  • Demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to communicate in various formats to external partners and all levels of an organization.

  • Working knowledge andproficiencywith Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word,Exceland PowerPoint.
