LGC PT, a support services provider within the API and proficiency testing ecosystem, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, modernization, and ongoing support of critical software systems that underpin API operations. You will shape architecture, promote best practices, and contribute to the long‑term technology roadmap.
The role emphasizes strong coding, system design, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, maintainable software.
LGC PT provides support services to API. These services include packaging and shipping, customer service, sales and marketing, finance, and IT. LGC PT also offers an ISO / IEC 17043 accredited proficiency testing program for clinical laboratories outside of the United States who prefer a different schedule and sample format than U.S. laboratories.
Together, API and LGC PT support the American Proficiency Institute proficiency testing program, which is known for its innovation and exceptional service.
API administers all technical and regulatory aspects of the PT program; its team of Medical Laboratory Scientists are experts in proficiency testing with 174 years of combined experience in PT. The team is responsible for program planning, sample procurement, statistical review of participant data, performance evaluation, and technical support.
API is backed by LGC PT's customer service team, who are renowned for their personal and responsive service. In addition, the LGC PT Supply Chain assembles and ships >145,000 PT kits to API participants each year, with processes designed to help ensure the accuracy of the PT kits.
The Senior Software Engineer is a highly experienced technical professional responsible for design, modernization, and ongoing support of critical software systems that underpin the operations of API. As an essential member of the Software Development Team, they play a critical part in shaping the organization's technical direction, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and maintainable software. The Senior Software Engineer serves as a subject matter expert, champions engineering best practices, and contributes to the long‑term technology roadmap in support of business objectives.
