Job summary

Fuscoe Engineering, Inc. in Los Angeles seeks a Technical Manager to lead civil engineering efforts, oversee technical aspects from entitlements through construction, and mentor staff across land development and related disciplines.

You will drive technical excellence, supervise project teams, and contribute to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and ownership through our ESOP program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent with design experience
• EIT certification is required
• 6+ years of civil engineering design experience; minimum 3 years as central design figure and mentor

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical strategist for civil engineering and related projects.
• Provide technical leadership by developing and refining processes.
• Mentor staff through knowledge transfer and advanced technical learning.
• Manage team members including task delegation and staff reviews.
• Participate in QA/QC by reviewing engineering deliverables and enforcing quality standards.

What You’ll Do as a Technical Manager:

• Serve as technical strategist for civil engineering and technical specialties for a given land/site development, water resources, or survey related project.
• Provide technical leadership by developing and refining technical processes and methodologies.
• Advance technical capabilities by developing and mentoring staff through facilitating knowledge transfer and advanced technical learning.
• Manages team members to include task delegation, conducting/participation in staff reviews, and other supervisory related tasks.
• Actively participate in the organization’s QA/QC processes by conducting thorough technical reviews of engineering deliverables and mentoring staff in quality standards and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Civil Engineering or equivalent discipline from a four-year college or university and civil engineering design experience of at least 6 years.
• At least 3 years of experience serving as the central design figure, mentor to employees, and lead for overseeing technical aspects of projects.
• Excellent decision-making, communication, leadership, technical skills, and ability to manage a land development project from start to finish (entitlements through construction support).
• EIT certification required
• PE certification preferred
• A motivated, curious problem-solver who works well independently and on a team.
