Job summary

Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced software engineer to serve as a hands-on technical lead. You will move fluidly across projects, providing senior engineering leverage and guiding architecture, debugging, and data‑pipeline work.

You will review PRs, engage with calibration engineers, and mentor other engineers while improving CI/CD, testing, and security practices. Hybrid work in Dearborn/remote arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with leading projects.
• Strong general-purpose programming skills and ability to learn new languages quickly.
• Proven debugging and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Experience reviewing code and mentoring engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with non-software domain experts.
• Able to work independently and in distributed remote teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical efforts across the portfolio and provide senior engineering leverage.
• Review pull requests across languages and repos to raise quality.
• Engage with calibration engineers to translate needs into requirements.
• Debug and root-cause production issues across desktop, web, and data pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and help unblock teams across onshore and offshore.
• Improve shared infrastructure, CI/CD, packaging, testing, and security practices.
