Job summary

Docker is seeking a senior engineer to own and enhance the local sandbox stack powering AI agent workloads. You will ship secure, isolated runtime environments at scale and lead cross-team efforts to improve correctness, performance, and reliability across platforms.

You will engage with open source ecosystems, drive architectural decisions, and own major features while thriving in a remote-first setup with global collaboration.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Production systems at scale ownership.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with developer tools, desktop apps, or runtime infrastructure.
• Familiar with agentic software development ecosystems.
• Able to work independently in a remote-first setting.
• Strong collaboration across teams and time zones.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of sandbox stack improvements.
• Ensure correctness, performance, and stability of the agent integration layer across macOS, Windows, and Linux.
• Drive reliability and performance of sandbox creation, session management, and teardown.
• Engage with open source communities and upstream projects.
• Own the filesystem layer roadmap in alignment with product goals.
