Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is seeking a Perception Engineer (Technical Lead) to lead perception pipelines for unmanned maritime systems. You will architect sensor fusion, SLAM, and computer vision on embedded edge hardware, with emphasis on real-time performance and production-grade software.

You will collaborate across autonomy, controls, software, hardware, and mission operations teams to deliver robust perception capabilities for UUVs/USVs, and you will mentor junior engineers

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in CS, robotics, EE, ML, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Strong production-grade C++ and Python development skills with version control and testing.
• Deep expertise in computer vision and perception; object detection, tracking, SLAM.
• Experience with multi-sensor fusion, point cloud processing, 3D perception.
• Hands-on deployment of perception systems on real robots; shipped production software.
• Experience with real-time/latency-constrained edge compute optimization.
• Knowledge of maritime sensors: sonar, radar, AIS, cameras.
• Ability to communicate results clearly; eligible for government clearance.
• Background in maritime autonomous systems; leadership on technical projects.
• Familiarity with robotics simulators and sim-to-real transfer.
