Job summary

Garmin Ltd. in the United States (Greater Kansas City area) is seeking a full-time Technical Lead Mechanical Engineer to join the Fitness team at Garmin's U.S. headquarters.

You will be a key technical contributor in major product development or mechanical solutions for new fitness applications, guiding feasibility and risk in design. Responsibilities include reviewing CAD assemblies for feasibility, developing testing methods with materials knowledge, and supporting design reviews across

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 9 years relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent academics (GPA >= 3.0) as a general rule.
• Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Review CAD assemblies for technical feasibility and assess design risks in product development.
• Explore new technologies and features, outlining challenges and risks.
• Develop/test methods using materials knowledge to substantiate design aspects.
• Interpret qualification tests and share findings with the mechanical design team.
• Estimate tooling, part cost, and design time for complex designs.
• Negotiate processes, materials, and feasibility with factories and vendors.
• Contribute to design reviews and lead explorations across modules; travel as needed.
