Job summary

Garmin Ltd. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Fitness Product team at the U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area.

You will provide advanced mechanical engineering and project planning for electromechanical solutions across wearables and cycling products. The role requires a proven track record in complex mechanical design, CAD mastery (SolidWorks or OnShape), strong communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive product development in a fast-paced

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated knowledge and capability to use CAD software for completing complex mechanical designs.
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Complete the most difficult tasks as a Master CAD-user including the completion of complex mechanical designs.
Specify test plans and test complex mechanical systems to validate and verify compliance with design requirements.
Manage basic tradeoffs, determine risk mitigation plans, and drive process vendors to evaluate complex mechanical designs.
Lead explorations of new technologies and make estimates on moderately complex mechanical designs including tooling, part cost, and design time.
