Job summary

Wipro Limited in New Jersey is seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer to design, develop, maintain and support COBOL, CICS, JCL and DB2 applications in a banking/financial services context. You will analyze requirements, implement changes, and ensure robust deployment and testing practices.

Responsibilities include debugging production issues, optimizing DB2 z/OS queries, and contributing to batch and online processing within an evolving SDLC/Agile/CI-CD environment.

Job Description

• Design, develop, maintain, and support Mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and DB2.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Perform coding, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment activities.
• Experience with DB2 z/OS programming, stored procedures, query optimization, performance tuning.
• Hands‑on experience in batch and online transaction processing.
• Knowledge of Mainframe utilities, production support, and job scheduling.
• Experience analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving production issues.
• Ability to work on application enhancements, maintenance, and modernization initiatives.
• Familiarity with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and CI/CD practices.
• Good understanding of banking and financial services applications.
• Perform root‑cause analysis to identify and troubleshoot recurring technical issues.
• Modify software codes to resolve errors, adapt to new hardware and software, enhance performance, and upgrade interfaces.
• Collaborate with technical teams to validate configurations, facilitate integration of new applications, and address dependencies during deployment.
• Prepare user training documents and related frameworks to ensure smooth adoption of new applications and minimize transition risks.

Mandatory Skills

• Mainframe Experience: 5-8 Years.

the expected compensation for this role ranges from $60,000 to $135,000 .
