Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA) seeks a Technical Lead Engineer to drive architectural direction and deliver API-based solutions with a cloud-first mindset. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable software.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Advanced Python development required.
• Experience with API integrations, testing, and automation.
• Strong object-oriented design and software engineering practices.
• AWS experience with Data Ops ECS, Lambda, EventBridge, API, Kinesis is required.
• Data orchestration tools (Airflow or Astronomer), DAG development, DBT and Snowflake preferred.
• Experience in Financial Services investments or asset management is a plus.
• Experience with event-driven and microservices architectures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads a team of developers; oversees timelines, quality, and risks.
• Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and conduct design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver solutions.
• Lead troubleshooting and production support activities.
• Build scalable, event-driven solutions using AWS services and modern patterns.
• Develop and maintain Python-based APIs and platform capabilities.
• Create technical designs from requirements and deliver via Agile methods.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code.
