Job summary

PsiQuantum in Milpitas, California seeks a Technical Lead for the Single Photon Sources Validation within the SubSystem Validation team (hardware engineering). The role focuses on planning, experimental design, and characterization of cryogenic electro-optical assemblies using single photon sources and superconducting detectors.

You will drive validation plans, develop analysis algorithms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Proven track record leading complex cross-functional projects.
• Experience with single photon detectors and cryogenic testing.
• Experience with nonlinear optical photonic integrated circuits.
• Experience with optical/electrical test equipment (OSA, lasers, OPMs, scopes, AWG, VNA).
• Photonic quantum experiments experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead validation planning and define figures of merit for cryogenic electro-optical assemblies.
• Develop algorithms to perform data analysis and extract key performance parameters.
• Execute validation plans, including debugging and characterization of cryogenic assemblies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and feedback on electro-optical designs.
• Contribute to lab cryogenic setups for light sources, detectors, and switches to validate functionality.
• Develop software scripts to drive measurements and feed data into a database.
• Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
