Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to contribute to an engineering-intelligence platform.

You will build and enhance trusted, scalable technology products within a secure environment and drive AI-assisted engineering practices across a multi-tenant backend and frontend stack. The role emphasizes secure coding, automated testing, and collaboration across business functions to support the firm's objectives.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in Java, Python, and/or JavaScript/TypeScript with a backend on Django + FastAPI and a React frontend.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and troubleshooting.
• Develops secure, high-quality production code and reviews code written by others.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Applies SDLC tools to improve value from automation and tooling.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams on architectural designs.
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies.
• Designs and delivers services across a distributed platform (backend APIs, data pipelines, dashboards) that run in cloud and customer AWS environments.
• Champions security- and privacy-by-design throughout the software development life cycle.
• Adds to team culture of diversity and inclusion.
