Karoo Health Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Technical Lead to guide core engineering efforts in a Pittsburgh-area role with remote U.S.-based options.

You will mentor a small team, drive agile processes, and own end-to-end delivery from requirements through deployment, while ensuring scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and compliance with

Qualifications

• 4+ years leading small technical teams with direct deliverables responsibility.
• 6+ years backend or full stack engineering experience, startup or fast-paced environment preferred.
• Experience with healthcare data regulations (HIPAA/HITRUST) and data formats (FHIR).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team, setting direction and driving continuous improvement.
• Facilitate daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives for predictable delivery.
• Craft clean, testable code and drive end-to-end delivery from requirements to deployment.
• Own the software from inception to maintenance and updates.
• Architect, optimize, and maintain databases for reliability and performance.
• Design and deploy scalable, secure cloud infrastructure with IaC best practices.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare data regulations (HIPAA/HITRUST).
