Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Development Engineer in Moorpark, CA to lead design and development of aerospace products from concept through production release. You will create documentation, perform analyses, and coordinate with customers and manufacturers to ensure performance, manufacturability, and cost targets are met.

The role requires 3D CAD expertise (SolidWorks preferred), GD&T proficiency, and the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Experience leading technical projects and coordinating engineering activities.
Strong ability to interpret customer specifications, standards, and government requirements.
Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling and engineering drawings; SolidWorks preferred.
Solid grounding in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

Lead technical execution of development programs from concept to production release.
Create and maintain engineering documentation such as data packages and test plans.
Develop 3D models and conceptual designs based on requirements.
Perform tolerance analyses and engineering calculations to optimize cost and risk.
Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams on design reviews.
Support prototype development and design-for-manufacture activities.
