Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned technology leader to drive end-to-end design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications. You will own architecture decisions, oversee SDLC governance, and lead production support strategies in a data-driven, security-conscious environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field.
5+ years Java development with enterprise architecture ownership.
5+ years SDLC governance and API security standards.
3+ years people management or technical leadership.
3+ years owning Level 1 production support strategy for business-critical systems.
Experience monitoring and remediating vulnerabilities across production releases.
Experience with AWS EKS and containerization preferred.
Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, CloudBees, ArgoCD) preferred.
Experience defining governance frameworks and quality/security guardrails for AI-assisted development tools preferred.
Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end design, development, and delivery of technology-enabled applications, products, and services.
Design and develop technical solutions for new software development and enhancement efforts.
Coordinate coding and unit testing phases and facilitate code reviews.
Approve domain solutions and execute changes according to implementation plans.
Liaise with senior leadership on project, operational, and strategy risks and opportunities, including corrective action plans.
Manage project and operational commitments, including quality and timeliness metrics.
Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction efforts, and tool development to simplify and improve software development and support.
Align initiatives with the platform technical and business roadmap.
Manage direct-report performance through feedback and formal reviews.
Deliver exceptional services while supporting engagement, motivation, and development.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Required
5+ years of Java development experience (Java 17+), including architecture ownership for enterprise platforms
5+ years owning SDLC governance, architectural decision-making, and API security standards
3+ years of people management or technical leadership experience
3+ years owning Level 1 production support strategy for business-critical systems
Experience monitoring and remediating vulnerabilities across production releases
Experience with AWS EKS and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) preferred
Experience with CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, CloudBees, ArgoCD) preferred
Experience defining governance frameworks and quality/security guardrails for AI-assisted development tools preferred
Financial services or insurance industry experience, particularly annuity products, recordkeeping, or accumulation ledger systems preferred

Core Competencies
