NS2 Mission seeks an experienced Technical Lead to guide the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical software for government customers in the Northern VA area. You will lead engineering teams through the full software lifecycle while shaping technical strategy, modernizing capabilities, and delivering scalable, high-performing solutions.

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience designing, developing, and maintaining big data or enterprise software solutions.
• Experience integrating COTS, GOTS, and open-source technologies within complex software environments.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including leading engineering teams and collaborating with senior leadership to solve customer challenges.
• Experience supporting software development efforts for government programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Proven ability to identify technology gaps and recommend innovative technical solutions and process improvements.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, systems integration, and software engineering best practices.

Lead the development of innovative software solutions that support critical mission objectives. NS2 Mission is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to support our team in the Northern VA area. This person will provide technical leadership for the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical software solutions supporting government customers. In this role, you'll guide engineering teams through the full software development lifecycle while helping shape technical strategy, modernize existing capabilities, and deliver scalable, high-performing solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to software engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable big data and enterprise software solutions supporting mission objectives.
• Lead the integration of Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS), Government Off-the-Shelf (GOTS), and open-source technologies into complex software environments.
• Collaborate with technical leadership, program management, and government stakeholders to define technical strategies and implement innovative solutions.
• Identify technology gaps, evaluate emerging technologies, and recommend improvements to existing capabilities and development processes.
• Mentor and support software engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and best engineering practices.
• Ensure software solutions meet performance, security, scalability, and maintainability requirements.
• Support Agile development activities, technical planning, risk management, and continuous process improvement.

Required Qualifications

• 7-10 years of combined experience designing, developing, and maintaining big data or enterprise software solutions.
• Experience integrating COTS, GOTS, and open-source technologies within complex software environments.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience, including leading engineering teams and collaborating with senior leadership to solve customer challenges.
• Experience supporting software development efforts for government programs of similar scope and complexity.
• Proven ability to identify technology gaps and recommend innovative technical solutions and process improvements.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, systems integration, and software engineering best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading Agile software development teams.
• Experience with cloud-native architecture and modern software development practices.
• Familiarity with DevSecOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized application development.
• Experience mentoring developers and fostering technical growth within engineering teams.
