Job summary

Riot Games in Los Angeles seeks a Technical Design Manager for Teamfight Tactics. You’ll lead Technical Game Designers, ensuring craft, and impacting gameplay systems. You’ll work with the Design Director to grow the TD subdiscipline and contribute to your own design work.

You’ll mentor teams, recruit talent, and align design with engineering practices while maintaining player-centric priorities across live services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in technical game design or related field.
• 2+ years in a manager or lead role.
• Strong craft in either gameplay engineering or game design.
• Proven leadership resolving conflicts and guiding designers.
• Familiarity with Teamfight Tactics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project’s technical game designers: help them grow, learn, and perform to their potential.
• Maintain a high craft bar: Ensure that the work you oversee meets Riot's demanding craft standards
• Advocate for players: incorporate feedback into roadmaps and feature decisions
• Collaborate and build trust: work with discipline leads and managers to deliver what teams need
• Build strong teams: recruiting and onboarding to ramp up designers
