Job summary

Perma-Seal Basement Systems is seeking an experienced Technical Field Specialist – Attic Insulation to support our installation teams by ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to Perma-Seal's quality standards.

This hands‑on field position focuses on field support, providing technical guidance and coaching to installation crews across the Chicagoland area to drive continuous improvement and exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on attic insulation installation.
• Understanding of attic insulation systems, air sealing, ventilation.
• Experience identifying installation issues and solutions.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
• Lead/field specialist experience preferred.
• Strong communication and coaching skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software.

Responsibilities

Perma-Seal Basement Systems is seeking an experienced Technical Field Specialist – Attic Insulation to support our installation teams by ensuring every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to Perma-Seal's quality standards. You'll join a growing attic insulation team supported by leaders with more than 30 years of field operations experience. This hands‑on field position is ideal for an experienced attic insulation professional who enjoys working directly with installation crews, visiting job sites, solving technical challenges, and driving continuous improvement. Focused on field support rather than people management, this role provides technical guidance, coaching, and expertise to help ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Support & Quality Assurance
• Visit job sites to ensure installations are completed safely, correctly, and according to company standards.
• Observe installation crews and provide guidance to help improve quality, efficiency, and consistency.
• Identify installation concerns and work with the team to resolve issues in the field.
• Conduct quality inspections and recommend improvements to reduce callbacks and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Ensure installers are following company procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and project specifications.
• Coach installers on proper installation techniques and safe work practices.
• Promote and reinforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Share best practices that improve workmanship and overall job quality.
• Help onboard and train new installers through field coaching and hands‑on support.
• Partner with Operations and Production to address field challenges and keep projects moving efficiently.
• Communicate with homeowners regarding project progress and answer questions as needed.
• Maintain accurate inspection reports, job site documentation, and project notes.
• Assist with evaluating new tools, equipment, and installation methods that improve efficiency and quality.
• Travel to job sites throughout the Chicagoland and NW Indiana area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on attic insulation installation experience required.
• Strong understanding of attic insulation systems, air sealing, ventilation, and residential installation practices.
• Experience identifying installation issues and recommending practical solutions.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safe work practices.
• Previous experience as a Lead Installer, Quality Control Specialist, Field Specialist, or similar role preferred.
• Strong communication, coaching, and problem‑solving skills.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and basic computer software.

Experience

• Field quality assurance, installer training, or construction operations is preferred.
• Residential attic insulation experience (preferred over commercial)
• Experience with blown‑in fiberglass and/or cellulose insulation
