Job summary

Brooks Instrument, a division of ITW, seeks a Technical Field Service Engineer based at the company headquarters in Hatfield, PA. The role provides on-site and remote support for Brooks Mass Flow Controllers and related products, servicing customers across multiple industries.

You will calibrate, install, troubleshoot, and train customers, travel up to 40%, and work with engineering to improve service tools and documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Approximately 5 years of experience servicing highly technical equipment.
• Experience providing customer-facing technical support via phone, email and at customer sites.
• Ability to diagnose, test, troubleshoot, and service products using schematics and test equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, providing after-sales support on-site and remotely.
• Perform calibration, troubleshooting, installation/startup, and service on Brooks products (billable, warranty, escalation).
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding findings, actions, and recommendations.
• Provide customer training on Brooks products, software, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Failure Analysis on diagnostics, data review, and root-cause investigations.
• Support product validation with Engineering and New Product Development and provide feedback.
• Develop and improve service software, diagnostic tools, test equipment, and documentation.
• When not in field, perform in-house Technical Services duties and customer support.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and comply with safety requirements; support continuous improvement.
