Job summary

Indeed, the world’s leading job site, seeks a Software Engineer VI to serve as a Technical Fellow for the Interop space. You will own architectural direction, setting strategy and ensuring our B2B integrations scale reliably as growth accelerates, collaborating with senior engineers, product leads, and executives.

Based in Annapolis, MD, you will help the org drive architectural change, document decisions, and mentor a team of 40–50 engineers to improve reliability and parity with partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in CS/Math/CE/EE or related field.
• 15+ years of related experience; or 12+ with a Master's; or 8+ with a PhD.
• Experience designing service-oriented architectures, distributed systems, APIs, and data platforms (SQL and NoSQL).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to influence technical direction across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own architectural assessment and simplification efforts across multiple teams or domains.
• Partner with senior engineers, technical leaders, and business partners to guide architectural decisions and system evolution.
• Establish and promote effective mechanisms for documenting and communicating architectural decisions and trade-offs.
• Translate architectural needs and user feedback into improvements for shared platforms, tools, or processes.
• Contribute code and design improvements to internal systems as appropriate, setting a high bar for quality and maintainability.
• Influence architectural standards and best practices across the engineering organization through collaboration and example.
