Position Overview

The Technical Engineer plays a key role in supporting the design, development, and application of AboveAir’s HVAC products. This position bridges engineering, manufacturing, and customer‑facing functions, ensuring that our systems meet performance expectations and project requirements. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on problem solver with strong technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a passion for HVAC technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise on AboveAir HVAC products to internal teams, customers, and channel partners.
  • Support the design, testing, and validation of new and existing products, including airflow, refrigeration, and control systems.
  • Review project specifications, submittals, and engineering drawings to ensure compliance with product capabilities and industry standards.
  • Assist in troubleshooting field issues, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges and improve product quality.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including installation guides, wiring diagrams, and performance data.
  • Participate in product improvement initiatives, leveraging customer feedback and field performance insights.
  • Provide training and technical support for sales teams, service technicians, and end users.
  • Ensure all engineering activities align with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Strong understanding of refrigeration cycles, airflow principles, and HVAC system components.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Familiarity with controls, PLCs, and building automation systems is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
