Job summary

Carnegie Mellon University’s SEI seeks a Technical Engagement Lead in Threat Analysis to oversee a portfolio delivering malware analysis, vulnerability research, and AI security capabilities for IC mission partners.

You will partner with the CII team, manage cross-functional teams, monitor milestones, and communicate risks and progress to leadership and sponsors. This role emphasizes technical excellence, collaboration, and national security impact.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, software engineering, networking, information systems, or a related technical field with eight (8) years of experience; MS with five (5) years; PhD with two (2) years or equivalent.
  • Willingness to travel (25%) to other SEI offices, sponsor sites, conferences, and offsite meetings.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an IC mission partner technical strategy aligned with TA and CERT.
  • Lead technical execution of TA projects for IC mission partners; review progress and ensure security and safety requirements are met.
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Coordinate across SEI and CMU support functions to supply teams with required resources.
  • Serve as primary technical liaison to IC partners with the CII team.
