Job summary

The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh seeks a Technical Engagement Lead in Threat Analysis to oversee planning, execution, and delivery of IC-focused projects, partnering with the CII team to align with national security priorities.

You will drive cross‑functional collaboration, assess risk and progress, and ensure the work meets SEI standards for safety, security, and compliance while advancing malware analysis, vulnerability research, and AI security.

Qualifications

  • BS in computer science, software engineering, networking, information systems, or related field (or equivalent).
  • Willingness to travel 25% outside of office locations.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of War security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop IC mission partner technical strategy aligned with TA and CERT broader strategy.
  • Lead technical execution of TA's project portfolio ensuring alignment with state-of-the-art malware analysis and AI security.
  • Foster a culture of technical rigor, accountability, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Coordinate across SEI and CMU support functions to ensure teams have what they need.
