Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a mid-level Technical Editor to ensure the highest standards of quality, clarity, and compliance across intelligence products.

You will serve as the editorial authority for the program, shaping production processes and strengthening the accuracy of published materials across the organization. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience and an active TS/SCI with poly clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review and edit intelligence products for clarity, logic, accuracy, and compliance with agency standards and IC guidance.
• Ensure style, formatting, and language conform to prescribed publication standards and specialized vocabulary requirements.
• Amend and refine draft tables, tone boxes, figures, and graphics to align with analytic content.
• Verify correct classification markings in accordance with IC directives.
• Work directly with authors to strengthen narrative organization, recommend improvements, and negotiate revisions as needed.
• Assist in managing finished intelligence products approved for external dissemination.
• Research and gather information from internal and external subject-matter experts and other authoritative sources.
• Analyze, cross-check, and edit intelligence products for accuracy and compliance with relevant IC directives, including ICDs 206, 209, 501, and 710.
• Organize information and determine the most effective presentation method for analytic content.
• Ensure all finalized materials meet the specified purpose, scope, and mission requirements.
• Support and oversee aspects of the production process for completed intelligence materials.
• Document Operating Instructions (OIs) for command‑wide programs and initiatives as directed by the Government.

Program Overview

GDIT delivers critical all-source intelligence on foreign military and civilian cyber actors, their supporting infrastructure, and the broader ecosystems in which these capabilities operate. This intelligence directly supports foundational military intelligence (FMI) requirements for the joint force and ensures alignment with the mission portfolios.

On this program, GDIT provides a broad range of analytic and mission-enabling support to produce operationally relevant FMI and scientific and technical intelligence (S&TI) for cyberspace operations. Our support is not limited to analysis; we engage across the entire intelligence cycle—planning, collection, processing, exploitation, production, and dissemination—while also executing integrated mission management functions.

All support is focused on enhancing the customers’ ability to enable both defensive and offensive cyberspace operations.

Position Overview: Technical Editor

This is a mid-level position designated as a key role on the contract, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality, clarity, and compliance across all intelligence products. The selected individual will serve as a editorial authority for the program, shaping production processes, guiding analytic communication, and strengthening the accuracy and impact of published materials across the organization. Because of the critical nature of this role, high-performing candidates with exceptional editorial expertise, strong initiative, and the ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a complex intelligence environment are strongly desired.

The Technical Editor supports the Intelligence Center by ensuring all intelligence products meet the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and compliance. This role reviews draft and finished intelligence materials for proper grammar, punctuation, syntax, logic, narrative flow, and consistency, while ensuring adherence to agency style guides, publication standards, and specialized subject‑matter vocabulary. The Technical Editor amends tables, text boxes, and graphics to ensure all visual elements fully support and align with accompanying narrative content. The position also verifies proper classification markings in accordance with Intelligence Community (IC) guidance and collaborates closely with authors to refine narrative organization, negotiate revisions, and strengthen the overall quality of published products.

The likely salary range for this position is $93,662 - $126,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
