Job Title: Technical Writer

Job Description:

Seeking Technical Writers to join our high-performing team in developing technical documentation for advanced military systems. These include radars for F-22, F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, MESA, G/ATOR, VADER, and other UAV systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related publications to communicate technical information clearly.
2. Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
3. Conduct quality reviews of materials.
4. Publish materials in various formats, including page-based, electronic (basic and interactive), structured (HTML, XML, SGML).
5. Collaborate with task leads, engineers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals in various formats and levels of detail.
6. Perform desktop publishing for reports, whitepapers, articles, and other documents.
7. Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources to develop manual outlines, adhering to military and civilian standards.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive, problem-solving, organized, self-motivated.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field, or military experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, and sensors/systems.
• Expertise in MS Office products.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with structured authoring tools like MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail.
• Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years’ technical writing experience.
• Knowledge of content management strategies.
• Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100).
• Familiarity with standards such as XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, DITA.
• Possess and maintain DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
