Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services in Charlotte, NC seeks an Engineering Technician to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for machine tools and turnkey automation systems. You will work with engineering teams to produce clear guides for operation, maintenance, and service.

You will also support CAD tasks, BOM updates, and SOP development while ensuring accuracy across documentation and process standards. This role strengthens quality systems and customer-facing materials.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (or higher) in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field.
• 2–4 years of prior work experience in engineering, drafting, technical documentation.
• Proficiency with CAD, SolidWorks, Adobe Acrobat, SAP, MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and documentation practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain operating instructions and technical manuals for machine tools and turnkey automation systems, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and parts.
• Assist engineers in developing clear and accurate technical documentation (e.g., maintenance and user guides).
• Assist with creation and maintenance of part and assembly drawings in SolidWorks.
• Update CAD models, BOMs, and docs to support changes and revisions.
• Develop, update, and standardize SOPs, work instructions, and templates.
• Support ISO 9001 compliance: document control, audits, and process documentation.
• Assemble and maintain customer, dealer, and service documentation packages.
