Parallel Systems in Los Angeles seeks a Technical Documentation Specialist to develop manuals and procedures that enable operators, technicians, and internal teams to safely operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair our systems.

The role works with engineering, vehicle operations, manufacturing, and field teams to translate complex hardware and software into clear, usable documentation, including manuals, work instructions, and troubleshooting guides.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience producing customer-facing documents in a safety-related field.
• Excellent copyediting and attention to detail.
• Expert user of Microsoft Word or equivalent layout software.
• Familiarity with mechanical repair processes.

Responsibilities

• Interview engineers, operators, technicians, and stakeholders to understand use, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Develop Operation and Maintenance manuals for vehicle hardware and user-facing software.
• Collaborate with engineers to create work instructions for assembly, maintenance, remote troubleshooting, and field repairs.
• Produce photographs, screenshots, diagrams, CAD renders, and other visual aids for documentation.
• Request information from technical staff when detail is needed.
• Coordinate consistent naming, terminology, and revision control.
• Participate in product reviews, testing, and field activities to validate documentation.
