Job summary

Laurel School in Cleveland, OH seeks a Technical Director for the Upper School Fall Play: Comedy of Errors. Rehearsals are ongoing with performances Nov 5–7 at 7:00pm.

The TD should meet with the director and production team regularly and be on campus for rehearsals three days a week in September and early October; all school days three weeks before the performance. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical theatre.
• Experience in sound design, lighting design, carpentry, and scenic painting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders.
• Ability to work well in teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with designers to construct and install the set; oversee removal.
• Design lighting and props, oversee sound; supervise subcontractors.
• Oversee and mentor student tech team.
• Maintain the production space (Chapel) and ensure equipment is stored and managed properly.
• Ensure expenses are approved by the Department Chair and stay within budget.
