Job summary

Code and Theory, LLC is seeking a Technical Director to own the vision, architecture, and delivery of the data platform and the engineering organization behind it. This leader will set direction for data collection, modeling, and activation that powers analytics, models, and generative AI across the agency and clients.

You will partner with leadership and ML teams, shape budgets and roadmaps, and define the culture of a world-class data organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering or adjacent disciplines.
• 3+ years leading teams or technical organizations.
• Experience designing and scaling data platforms from the ground up.
• Deep expertise in cloud data platforms.
• Strong fluency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with AI-powered coding and AI-enabled workflows.
• Proven track record of hiring, mentoring, and establishing standards.
• Excellent communication across a 50/50 Tech/Creative organization.

Responsibilities

• Own the vision, architecture, and roadmap for Code and Theory’s data platform.
• Design and scale data collection, modeling, and activation systems.
• Translate business strategy into platform development with stakeholders.
• Contribute to budget and roadmap decisions, prioritizing initiatives.
• Standardize cloud data platforms and tooling with sound judgment.
• Remain hands-on as an architect and set engineering standards.
• Lead adoption of AI-powered coding and AI-enabled workflows.
• Hire, mentor, and grow engineers and leads.
• Represent the data org to senior leadership and clients.
• Balance client delivery with platform investment and governance.
