SAK Construction, LLC is seeking a highly experienced Business Development Manager - Technical Director in Tucson, AZ. This role combines strategic growth leadership with technical oversight, focusing on opportunities across sanitary and storm sewer projects and related infrastructure nationwide.

You will guide regional teams, manage proposals and bids, and collaborate with executive leadership to shape growth strategy while ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality client engagement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Business Development or Sales.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in forging and maintaining business relationships.
• 5+ years of experience in negotiating contracts and leading strategic pursuits.
• Proficiency with MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM Systems.
• Ideal candidate is licensed engineer, DBIA certified, or similar technical professional certifications/licensures.
• 10+ years of experience working in construction industry or similar high-paced environment.
• Experienced in public speaking and engagement, contract negotiations and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations related to business development.
• Provide recommendations to executive and regional leadership on growth initiatives.
• Lead alternative delivery pursuits and advise on strategy and partnering decisions.
• Develop proposals, bids, and market intelligence for opportunities.
• Represent the company at national trade shows and industry events.
• Coach regional teams on business development relationships at multiple levels.
• Build high-level relationships with customers, engineering firms and potential clients.
• Identify, develop and close opportunities for business.
• Serve as internal consultant to VP of Business Development and other departments.
• Create departmental budgets.
