Job summary

The Kasper Group, a leader in women’s apparel, seeks a Progressive Technical Designer to drive fit, construction, and tech-pack development for multiple styles. You will coordinate with Design, Production, and overseas factories to ensure precise construction and timely approvals.

You should have strong PLM and CAD/Illustrator skills, with experience in live fittings and documentation, and the ability to manage several styles and deadlines in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Progressive technical design experience within women's apparel.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, specifications, grading fundamentals and pattern correction.
• Experience coordinating with overseas factories and vendors.
• Experience participating in live fittings and documenting fit direction.
• Strong PLM and technical package experience.
• CAD / Adobe Illustrator skills and proficiency in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned styles through the fit and development process with limited supervision.
• Prepare for and participate actively in live fittings, identifying fit, balance and construction issues and recommending corrections.
• Take ownership of fit comments, specifications, construction details and technical package updates for assigned styles.
• Communicate fit, construction and pattern corrections directly to overseas factories and follow through to resolution.
• Review samples for measurement accuracy, construction, workmanship and adherence to approved specifications.
• Maintain PLM records, technical packages, fit comments and approval history.
• Manage multiple styles, categories and deadlines while maintaining department Time and Action calendars.
