Job summary

Gensler in Houston seeks an experienced Technical Designer for its Critical Facilities practice. You will drive project delivery, collaborate with office and regional leaders, and develop delivery and process improvements to create functionally beautiful spaces.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, 5+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, and visualization. This is an in-person position located in the Houston area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university required.
• 5+ years of related project experience, with interest or background in critical facilities related projects.
• Proficiency in Revit, 3D modeling, visualization, and graphic software.
• Beginning knowledge of relevant building codes and accessibility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Critical Facilities team on conceptual designs, presentations, design development, and production.
• Resolve complex design issues with innovative and practical solutions.
• Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production.
• Collaborate with design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
• Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, and construction drawings.
• Assist in managing client expectations, team communication and consultant coordination.
• Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Your Role

As a Gensler Technical Designer, you will combine creativity and technical knowledge with a focus on project delivery and an understanding of how to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients. You will drive the delivery of a project, collaborate with office and regional technical leaders, and develop delivery and process improvement strategies. What You Will Do
