Job summary

Brobston Group seeks a Technical Designer to create, maintain, and approve tech packs in PLM, guiding suppliers and factories to produce samples and production-ready childrenswear garments.

The role partners with Design, Product Management, Pattern Making, technical design teams, and suppliers to ensure products meet design intent, fit, construction, quality, and calendar requirements.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in apparel manufacturing, design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and apparel manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator; working knowledge of Gerber, PLM, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of Browzwear or other 3D applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate tech packs in PLM, documenting measurements, construction details, fit requirements, sketches, imagery, and product data.
  • Review tech packs and own their integrity and completion from creation through production approval.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and suppliers throughout the product lifecycle, including attending hand-off meetings, reviews, and milestones.
  • Support fit sessions, sample reviews, and product evaluations to ensure alignment with design intent and quality standards.
  • Manage workload and calendar deliverables, communicate recaps and next steps, and contribute to departmental initiatives and process improvements.

Education
