Our client is seeking an experienced Technical Designer to join their team in Los Angeles. This role oversees the end-to-end technical design process, ensuring garments meet fit, construction, and quality standards from concept through production.
Role Description
- Oversee the technical design process from initial concept through production, ensuring fit, construction, and quality standards are consistently met.
- Review design concepts and develop detailed technical packages, including measurements, specifications, and construction details.
- Lead fit sessions and provide clear construction and measurement guidance to internal teams and external vendors.
- Partner closely with Design, Product Development, and Production to resolve construction issues and keep projects on schedule.
- Track project timelines and ensure consistency across styles and categories.
- Lead and mentor members of the technical design team while supporting a collaborative, solutions-oriented environment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and maintain quality standards.
- Support cross-functional communication to ensure projects remain aligned with quality, cost, and timeline expectations.
Qualifications
- Strong technical design and garment construction expertise, with a focus on accurate fit, specifications, and quality standards.
- Experience leading technical design workflows and managing projects across cross-functional teams.
- Strong product development knowledge and the ability to translate design concepts into production-ready styles.Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with internal teams and external vendors.
- Advanced proficiency with technical design tools and software, including CAD, PLM systems, and/or digital pattern tools.
- 5+ years of experience in technical design or a related apparel/fashion field, including team leadership experience.
- Degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Product Development, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment.
