Job summary

Confidential in New York, NY is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer to lead and manage technical design execution from development through production. You will oversee live fittings, ensure consistent fit and garment construction, and approve technical packages before vendor release.

The role requires 10-12+ years in women's apparel, expertise in fit, grading, and pattern correction, and strong leadership to mentor junior designers. CLO 3D proficiency is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Technical Design, Patternmaking, or related field.
• 10-12+ years of Technical Design experience within women's apparel.
• Experience leading fittings and communicating technical direction to overseas vendors.
• Proficiency with CLO 3D and development tools.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Technical Designers and junior staff in fit execution and development.
• Ensure adherence to fit standards, construction standards, and technical procedures.
• Assist leadership in evaluating staffing needs and process improvements.
• Support onboarding and development of new technical team members.
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and escalate issues as needed.

• Lead and manage live fittings, ensuring consistency in fit, construction, and garment execution
• Review and approve specs, grading, fit comments, and technical packages prior to vendor release
• Partner closely with Design, Production, Product Development, Merchandising, and overseas vendors throughout development process
• Troubleshoot fit, pattern, and construction issues and provide technical direction to factories
• Manage workload distribution, workflow prioritization, and calendar adherence across the technical design team
• Mentor and support Technical Designers and junior team members in fit execution and technical development
• Ensure adherence to company fit standards, construction standards, and technical procedures
• Assist leadership in evaluating staffing needs, process improvements, and departmental efficiencies
• Support onboarding and development of new technical team members
• Maintain strong vendor relationships and support escalation resolution as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Design, Patternmaking, or related field preferred
• 10-12+ years of Technical Design experience within women's apparel
• Prior management or team leadership experience preferred
• Expert knowledge of fit, grading, garment construction, and pattern correction
• Proven experience leading fittings and communicating technical direction to overseas vendors
• Strong understanding of development calendars and production timelines
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Illustrator, Excel, PLM systems, and technical development tools preferred
• Experience with CLO 3D technical platform

Salary Range: $115K - $130K *Actual base salary for this role within the above range will be based upon experience, qualifications and/or assigned unit.
