Job summary

Title Nine in Emeryville, CA is recruiting a Technical Design Manager to lead product engineering for our in-house brand, translating design intent into commercialized garments that meet fit, quality and margin standards.

You will own the technical point of view for the brand, establish signature spec packages, develop 3D patterns, lead the Tech Design team and partner with Design, Merchandising, Sourcing and Vendors to deliver on-time, scalable product with consistent fit and construction.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in apparel design or related field.
7+ years of technical design and/or product development experience.
Experience interpreting design intent and acting as the technical resource for the team.

Responsibilities

Lead technical design and product engineering for the in-house brand across apparel and swim.
Develop and maintain signature technical specifications, blocks and fit consistency.
Develop 3D patterns to support initial product adoption with Design and Merchandising.
Lead fit sessions and carryover fit management across styles.
Manage sample development process and vendor communications to meet deadlines.
Lead, mentor and develop the Tech Design team.
