Fly By Night LA in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Technical Design Manager to lead the end-to-end technical design process for garments. You will review concepts, develop detailed technical packages, and guide fit sessions for internal teams and external vendors.

The role requires strong leadership in technical design, garment construction, and cross‑functional collaboration with design, product development, and production.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in technical design and garment construction with accurate specs.
• Ability to lead design workflows, manage deadlines, and coordinate cross‑functional teams.
• Experience translating concepts into production‑ready styles and resolving issues with vendors.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across design, production and partners.
• Advanced proficiency with CAD, PLM systems and digital pattern tools.
• 5+ years in apparel technical design or related field with leadership responsibilities.
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Fashion Design, Technical Design or Product Development.
• Demonstrates analytical thinking, accuracy and fast-paced working habits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end‑to‑end technical design from concept to production.
• Review concepts, develop detailed technical packages and fit sessions.
• Provide construction and measurement guidance to internal teams and vendors.
• Collaborate with design, product development and production to solve issues.
• Track timelines and ensure consistency across styles and categories.
• Lead and mentor the technical design team and implement process improvements.
