Job summary

Talbots is seeking a Technical Design Coordinator to manage the Technical Design Manual, labels, and fit model processes in NYC. You will partner with IT, QA, Marketing, and Product Development to drive projects and maintain data integrity.

The role focuses on coordinating schedules, billing reviews, and admin tasks while ensuring accurate labeling and documentation across multiple brands. A fashion-related degree or equivalent experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fit/model process coordination and label management.
• Maintain Technical Design Manual with cross-functional collaboration (IT/QA).
• Support Design, Marketing and Product Development teams; drive project plans.
• Manage department invoicing and financials; ensure timely processing of invoices.
• Coordinate travel, fittings, and meetings; train users on IT systems and PLM tools.

Position is responsible for maintaining the Technical Design Manual, Label function, Fit Model process and gives full support for Technical Design and Product Development team. Position also manages department financial function.The impact you can haveFIT MODEL MANAGEMENTManage fit model processBook fit models and manage fit schedules; involves significant coordination and scheduling work.Manage billing review/approval process; involves attention to fee/charge procedures.Manage model agency relationship.Requires understanding of business priorities to assure models are available when necessary.TECHNICAL DESIGN MANUALMaintain Technical Design Manual working with multiple business areas (Quality Assurance, Technical Design, etc.). Manage revision and communication process.Manage inquiries pertaining to manual content.Act as Business Interface with IT as it relates to communication of the manual; manage the loading of data into system database.Act as project manager/point person for pulling information together, resolving issues, obtaining data.Field questions from Li & Fung and external vendors relating to guide.LABELSAct as project manager for clothing labels; act as point person; support new initiatives and data collection.Work closely with Marketing, Pre-Production and Technical Design. Execute plans.Manage label library.Communicate label initiatives and changes.Act as business point person when working with Design on new initiatives.Partner with external label vendor, NexGen, regarding our web-based label ordering system; involves placing orders, supporting product integrity, managing the process with the vendor.ADMINISTRATIVEBook travel (air, hotels, car services)Support all fittings and product life cycle events/meetingsTrain and support users on IT systems which involves working with SharePoint, Talbots shared drives (pattern library)New hire set upSupport Technical Design team and Product Development team as neededManage Department invoice process for Technical Design. Responsible for the review, approval, and processing of all invoices.
