Job summary

Talbots, a leading women’s wear retailer, is seeking a Print & Pattern Assistant to support the creation and production of seasonal prints, colors, and patterns. The role interfaces with design, merchant, product development, sourcing, CAD, R&D, and studios to ensure prints are brand appropriate and production-ready.

Responsibilities include preparing print packages, maintaining print charts, coordinating color approvals, and collaborating with global partners to allocate prints to factories.

Qualifications

• College Degree and 0-3 years experience in textile/ design print field.
• Ability to interpret aesthetic design inspiration into production ready patterns.
• Technical expertise in prints, color matching and creation of color ways.
• Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Create/prepare print packages, including CAD artwork/repeats/technical print information with measurements and cuttings.
• Maintain seasonal print chart with sample yardage, approvals, print direction and placement.
• Assist in color approvals on strike offs and bulk submits for on-time commits.
• Collaborate with Design, CAD and external studios/artists to develop cohesive prints.
• Partner with Sourcing, Product Development and R&D to allocate prints to factories/countries.
• Update print quality reference books with swatches and detail sheets.
• Enter print quality and color information into SCM system for cross-functional use.
