Job summary

Talbots is seeking an Associate Product Development Manager in New York to drive product development from concept to delivery, collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors. You will manage orders, track product lifecycle, and support costing and risk analysis, ensuring timely seasonal approvals.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 4+ years in product development or sourcing, with strong Excel/PLM skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 4+ years in product development or sourcing.
  • Experience in accessories is a plus; strong MS Office/Excel/PLM skills.
  • Able to communicate across teams and manage sample processes.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with internal and external partners.
  • Set up and maintain purchase orders in our system; ensure accuracy and distribution.
  • Track, receive, unpack, distribute, and ship products through the lifecycle.
  • Review WIP manufacturing reports with Sr. Manager and partners.
  • Assist in costing, data entry, and cost summary reports.
  • Identify risks and communicate them timely.
  • Set up fit and sample reviews for seasonal approvals.
  • Manage photo sample tracking and design packet verification.

The Associate Manager will support the Sr. Manager for all functions of the Product Life Cycle from concept to delivery.The impact you can haveDaily communication with internal and external business partnersSet up and maintain orders in purchase order software system; ensure accuracy and distribution.Track, receive, unpack, distribute, and ship packages in various stages through the product life cycle.Weekly review of Work in Progress (WIP) Manufacturing Reports with Sr. Manager & external business partners.Track bulk production product shipment deliveries for on time in distribution center (DC) receiptsAssist in costing of product, product analysis, cost entry, generate cost summary reports, and maintenance of same.Analyze and recognize risk assessments and timely communication of sameSet up fit, confirmation samples, and any other sample reviews that need timely seasonal approval.Manage photo sample tracking and reviewVerify technical design packets with manager and design business partners to ensure clarity and accuracy before handoff to overseas agentsRequest Custom’s style classifications from Imports team, general maintenance, and data integrity in TradeStone.You’ll bring to the roleBachelor’s degree preferred4+ years’ experience in Product Development or SourcingAccessories experience a plusStrong computer skills including Microsoft office, Excel, and PLM system.
