Stelvio Inc. is partnering with a tolling technology client to appoint a Director of Technical Delivery who will guide strategic and technical direction across the customer portfolio. You will serve as the senior technical authority from bid to final system acceptance.

This leadership role combines strategic vision with hands-on oversight, shaping executive delivery strategy and ensuring excellence across multiple concurrent programs while leading a team of Technical Delivery Managers.

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of system integration, software delivery lifecycles and customer implementation strategies.
• The ability to lead strategic technical conversations with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Job description

Stelvio are working with a client in the tolling technology sector seeking a Director of Technical Delivery to lead the strategic and technical direction of system delivery across its customer portfolio.

As the senior technical authority within the delivery organization, you will define how core products are aligned with customer-specific requirements throughout the complete program lifecycle, from the bid stage through to final system acceptance.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who can shape executive-level delivery strategy, strengthen organizational capability and maintain delivery excellence across multiple concurrent programs. You will also lead a team of Technical Delivery Managers responsible for turning complex requirements into scalable, successful implementations.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Partner with Delivery, Product, Program Management and Business Leadership teams to develop solutions aligned with customer and company objectives.
• Represent technical delivery in executive planning and strategy discussions.
• Act as the senior technical authority across customer implementations.
• Establish standards for aligning product capabilities with customer requirements.
• Create frameworks that support solution quality, reliability, responsiveness and a positive customer experience.
• Lead technology assessments, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Refine delivery methodologies and establish consistent practices across the customer portfolio.
• Consolidate explicit and implicit customer requirements to inform product roadmaps and wider business strategy.
• Maintain expert knowledge of tolling systems, platforms and integrations while developing this expertise across the delivery team.
• Take ownership of delivery outcomes across multiple programs, ensuring timely, high-quality results and customer satisfaction.
• Build, lead and mentor a team of Technical Delivery Managers.
• Provide technical direction, performance management and career development support.
• Work strategically with the PMO to maintain effective planning, execution, risk management and reporting standards.
• Act as the highest escalation point for complex technical delivery issues requiring executive involvement.
• Serve as a senior technical sponsor for key customer relationships.
• Lead solution discussions and align internal and external stakeholders around technical strategy and delivery outcomes.
• Explain complex concepts and strategic trade-offs to executive, technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities that add value for customers and the wider business.
• Promote transparency and collaboration between internal teams, partners and customer organizations.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.

Qualifications

You will need:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex or enterprise-level system solutions.
• A strong understanding of system integration, software delivery lifecycles and customer implementation strategies.
• The ability to lead strategic technical conversations with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong leadership, communication and solution-development capabilities.

It would be beneficial if you have:

• At least ten years of tolling industry experience.
• Experience completing two or more full-cycle agency system deliveries.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring Technical Delivery Managers or comparable technical leads.

Relevant practical experience is highly valued.
