TEKsystems, Contract position based out of Miamisburg, OH, seeks a Technical Solutions Consultant to lead customer-facing implementations of enterprise risk and compliance products. You will manage configurations, integrations, and post-production support across diverse industries.
The role requires Azure, AWS, SQL Server, Java, Linux, WebSphere Liberty, Tomcat, and Elasticsearch experience. Remote work with some travel; strong communication to executives and engineers is essential.
The Technical Solutions Consultant is responsible for leading the customer-facing implementation, configuration, integration, and ongoing technical support of enterprise risk and compliance products across financial services, collections, healthcare, government, law enforcement, and insurance customers.
This is not a software development or programming role. The position is intended for an experienced technical consultant who can manage multiple customer-facing implementation projects, troubleshoot complex customer-controlled environments, and communicate effectively with both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
The consultant will serve as a primary technical point of contact throughout the implementation lifecycle, helping customers integrate enterprise products through delivery channels such as XML, SOAP and REST web services, and hosted web applications. Because many of these environments are managed and controlled by customers, success requires the ability to diagnose issues across application servers, databases, operating systems, cloud platforms, middleware, and integration components without having direct administrative control over the underlying environment.
The ideal candidate combines strong customer-facing consulting experience with hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure, AWS, SQL Server, Java-based applications, Linux, IBM WebSphere Liberty, and Apache Tomcat. This individual must be comfortable taking ownership of technical issues, conducting root-cause analysis, coordinating internal and external resources, and maintaining customer communication through final resolution.
Experience supporting or troubleshooting Elasticsearch environments is strongly preferred.
The strongest candidate will demonstrate:
Significant direct customer-facing consulting and implementation experience
Ability to manage multiple concurrent customer projects and priorities
Strong configuration, integration, and environment troubleshooting capabilities
Experience working within environments owned or controlled by external customers
Ability to lead customer conversations and explain technical issues clearly
Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud platforms
Strong SQL Server and relational database troubleshooting experience
Knowledge of Java applications and runtime environments
Hands-on experience with Linux, IBM WebSphere Liberty, and Apache Tomcat
Ability to own technical issues and customer correspondence through resolution
Experience supporting Elasticsearch environments as a strong plus
Lead customer implementations: Manage the technical implementation, configuration, integration, testing, and post-production transition of enterprise risk and compliance products.
Manage multiple customer-facing projects: Coordinate several concurrent implementations while maintaining accurate project plans, priorities, dependencies, risks, action items, and customer communications.
Serve as the primary technical consultant: Build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders and provide technical and business-process consulting throughout the implementation lifecycle.
Troubleshoot customer-controlled environments: Diagnose complex issues within environments hosted, configured, or managed by customers. Collaborate with customer teams to gather information, review configurations and logs, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
Provide advanced technical support: Deliver third-level escalation support for implementation and production issues involving operating systems, databases, application servers, cloud platforms, web services, middleware, and product integrations.
Own issues through resolution: Maintain responsibility for communication with customers, Sales, Product, Support, Engineering, and other internal teams until issues are resolved or transitioned to the appropriate owner.
Support cloud-based environments: Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, configuration, and integration issues within Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services environments.
Support databases and data integrations: Analyze and troubleshoot SQL queries, database connectivity, data quality, performance, and integration issues involving SQL Server and other relational database platforms.
Support Java application environments: Troubleshoot Java-based applications and runtime environments, including IBM WebSphere Liberty and Apache Tomcat. Programming and application development are not primary responsibilities of this role.
Support web service integrations: Assist customers with SOAP and REST web services, XML-based integrations, authentication, connectivity, requests and responses, and related configuration issues.
Conduct root-cause analysis: Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to determine whether technical issues are related to customer configuration, infrastructure, product behavior, data quality, connectivity, or integration design.
Deliver technical presentations: Lead customer workshops, implementation meetings, product demonstrations, technical reviews, and integration discussions for technical and nontechnical audiences.
Translate technical concepts: Explain complex technical issues, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations in language appropriate for executives, business stakeholders, administrators, engineers, and support teams.
Share implementation expertise: Provide customers with product knowledge, technical examples, implementation guidance, and industry best practices that help implementations progress toward completion.
Collaborate across internal teams: Act as a liaison among customers, Sales, Product, Engineering, Support, and other internal teams to coordinate issue resolution and successful delivery.
Produce technical documentation: Create and maintain implementation plans, configuration guides, troubleshooting documentation, technical requirements, issue summaries, and customer-facing recommendations.
Mentor team members: Share technical and consulting knowledge while providing guidance to less-experienced internal and external team members.
Improve consulting practices: Contribute ideas, processes, documentation, and best practices that improve implementation quality, team effectiveness, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
Maintain technical knowledge: Complete required training and continue developing knowledge of supported products, customer environments, cloud platforms, integration technologies, and relevant industry practices.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
