Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and procure technical goods, components, and services in accordance with specifications, cost targets, and lead times.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials (BOMs) to determine procurement requirements.
- Solicit quotations, analyze bids, and negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions with suppliers.
- Identify and develop relationships with qualified vendors and manufacturers.
- Manage the purchase order (PO) lifecycle from creation to delivery, including tracking, expediting, and resolving any supply chain issues.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including cost data, supplier performance, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to inventory planning and forecasting efforts, ensuring optimal stock levels of critical components.
- Assist with cost reduction initiatives and sourcing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce spending.
- Liaise with internal teams to confirm receipt and quality of delivered items.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, or a closely related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in technical buying (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to perform repetitive motion, reaching, kneeling, walking, standing or sitting for several hours at a time. Employees must be able to maintain essential functions with reasonable accommodation.
Additional Requirements
- Valid state driver’s license required and ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
- Access to a federal military installation requires a REALID-compliant driver’s license or acceptable alternative.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
