Job summary

Mindray North America is seeking an experienced Technical Associate for our Repair Center in New Jersey. You will troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test advanced electronic medical devices and circuit boards to meet high quality and performance standards.

You will work with customers, field service personnel, engineering, and operations to ensure timely, high-quality repairs and exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Electronics or related field required.
  • 4–7 years of hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Experience with medical device or healthcare technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair at component level.
  • Calibrate and test electronic equipment for quality and performance.
  • Document repairs in the service management system accurately.
  • Prepare repair estimates and communicate recommendations to customers.
  • Provide technical support to field service personnel and customers.
  • Maintain appropriate repair parts inventory.
  • Recommend replacement parts and accessories when needed.
  • Develop, update, and follow repair procedures for consistency.
  • Investigate complex failures and coordinate corrective actions with QA/Engineering.
  • Mentor junior technicians and share troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Assist with workload prioritization in the absence of the supervisor.
  • Collaborate with operations and receiving to speed workflow.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced Technical Associate to join our Repair Center team. In this role, you'll troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and test sophisticated electronic medical devices and circuit boards to ensure they meet quality and performance standards. You'll work closely with customers, field service personnel, engineering, and internal operations to deliver timely, high-quality repairs while helping maintain an exceptional customer experience.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronic equipment and circuit boards to the component level.
  • Perform functional testing and verification to ensure repaired equipment meets quality and performance standards.
  • Create accurate service documentation and maintain repair records within the company's service management system.
  • Prepare repair estimates and communicate repair recommendations to customers via phone and email.
  • Provide technical support and repair guidance to field service personnel and customers.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels of repair parts and components.
  • Recommend replacement parts and accessories when appropriate to support customer needs.
  • Develop, update, and follow repair and testing procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality repairs.
  • Investigate complex product failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams on corrective actions.
  • Mentor and support junior technicians by sharing technical knowledge and troubleshooting expertise.
  • Assist with workload prioritization and provide limited operational support in the absence of the Repair Center Supervisor.
  • Partner with operations and receiving teams to resolve incoming repair questions and ensure efficient workflow.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate degree (A.A.S.) in Electronics, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • 4-7 years of hands-on electronic troubleshooting and repair experience to the component level.
  • Experience repairing complex electronic equipment, preferably within the medical device or healthcare technology industry.
Technical Skills
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency using electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, and calibration equipment.
  • Strong computer skills and experience documenting repairs in computerized service systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Professional Skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a professional phone presence.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple departments.
  • Proven ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced repair environment.
  • Experience mentoring or assisting less experienced technicians is preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed electronic repairs.
  • Ability to lift up to approximately 15 pounds.
  • Visual acuity required for precision component-level troubleshooting and repair.
