Job description

Position Summary The Service Technician is responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of specific Cadwell products, with direction and support from the Service Department Lead. Repairs are performed on Class I and II electronic medical devices, requiring careful handling, precise workmanship, and adherence to quality standards. Meeting established productivity and quality standards is an essential requirement of this position, including repair volume targets and warranty repair rate thresholds. The role also contacts customers as needed to gather information required to complete repairs accurately.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and perform repair operations on specific Cadwell products, completing work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Contact customers as needed during the repair process to gather additional information required to complete service orders accurately.
  • Follow established technical and administrative policies and procedures, including pricing guidelines.
  • Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to prescribed safety procedures and regulations.
  • Complete required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Other activities as directed, assigned, or requested.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Working knowledge of electronics fundamentals as applied to the repair of electronic medical devices, including resistors, capacitors, and other electronic components; soldering; component removal and replacement; and schematics and other electronic documentation.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including MS Office, Google Workspace, query tools, and database systems.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of Cadwell product lines and how they are used by clinicians, and effectively troubleshoots computer hardware and software issues.
  • Develops and maintains a foundational understanding of Cadwell's Quality Management System (QMS), including product escalation processes and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with co-workers, customers, and vendors in both written and verbal formats.
  • Approaches work with attention to detail, an organized methodology, and effective time management and follow-through.
  • Exhibits Cadwell's core values of integrity, initiative, accountability, commitment to excellence, and service to others.
Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Technical certification in electronics or a related field (preferred)
  • No prior experience required; relevant experience in electronics repair or a related field is a plus
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

Positions working with Cadwell equipment generally may require some reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, color vision, and 2-way written/verbal communication. More specific details may be provided as needed or requested. Extensive use of a computer will be required. Domestic and international travel may be required; must be able to obtain necessary travel documents. Work hours outside normal business hours may be required at times to meet business needs.

Salary Range $22 — $38 USD
