Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years in an IT role.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in IT-related field preferred with relevant experience.
• Experience with IT security monitoring and incident response is desirable.

Job description

Core Responsibilities

• Utilize cyber security monitoring tools to provide day‑to‑day operational support and monitoring of the IT computing infrastructure.
• Provide timely response, troubleshooting and escalation of alerts, and coordinate incident response efforts with the Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC) within the Information Security Group.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and support intrusion prevention, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, and access control technologies.
• Perform first‑level triage, analysis, and processing of alerts.
• Respond swiftly to all alerts; perform initial risk/impact assessments and escalating issues as appropriate.
• Open and track incidents through to resolution.
• Facilitate communications to both internal and external parties.
• Document security incidents, including impact and remediation actions taken.
• Analyze and investigate security events to determine root cause and threat severity.
• Provide real‑time and near real‑time responses to end users, technical support groups, and IT management.
• Perform first‑level threat intelligence processing.
• Collect and report metrics.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED and at least two years of relevant work experience in an IT field.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT‑related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Security) with at least one year of relevant work experience.
• Associate’s Degree in an IT‑related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Security) with at least two years of relevant work experience.

Relevant Work Experience and Knowledge

• Previous IT experience required.
• Scripting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of security tools preferred.
• Good understanding of industry standard policies, processes and procedures covering incident, problem, and change management preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work within tight timeframes and meet strict deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion.

Licenses and Certifications

• Driver’s License required.
• Technical certifications (e.g., Security+ or equivalent) preferred.

Other Physical Demands

• Must be able to respond to company emergencies by performing a system emergency assignment to restore service to customers.
