GFT is seeking a Technical Assistant (TA) to join our Construction Services Team in Audubon, PA. This role is mostly on-site. We emphasize safety, quality, and sustainable construction practices while delivering projects that meet schedule and budget targets.

The successful candidate will perform inspections, assist with QC plans, and participate in daily field huddles, contributing to project success and client satisfaction through collaborative teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of transportation industry experience in highway/bridge design or construction inspection.
• Ability to complete twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules.
• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems and learns from peers.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspection to assure that contractors build a quality construction project.
• Perform assigned duties to ensure plans, specifications, standards, and QC plans are adhered to.
• Comply with the District and project-specific overtime requirements.
• Meet with the Department Project Engineer/Manager/Supervisor or Consultant Manager/Supervisor daily, or as required, to receive instructions and assignments.
• Complete PSAs and work sheets daily.
• Request assistance from the Manager/Supervisor for instruction or assignment in inspection of materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with contract requirements and established standards.
• Participate in daily huddles with field staff.

Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

• High School Diploma, GED, or post-secondary education.


• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.


• Ability to perform basic math computations for length, area, and volume.


• One (1) year minimum of transportation industry experience in highway/bridge design or construction inspection.


• Ability to complete the twelve (12) web-based TCI training modules.


• Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $43,000 - $53,000 per year. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
