Job summary

GFT seeks a Construction Manager for our Construction Services team in the Philadelphia area. You will oversee all construction phases to ensure on-time delivery, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include leading meetings, managing field staff, change orders, RFIs, and preparing schedules, budgets, reports, and proposals. A BS in Engineering/Construction Management and a PE/CCM is preferred; 10-hour OSHA and strong MS Office skills required.

Qualifications

  • Requires 10-15 years in construction management/leadership roles.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 is preferred.
  • Must have OSHA 10-hour safety certification and strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead construction management and inspection services for projects.
  • Manage field personnel and teaming partners.
  • Negotiate and approve change orders; respond to RFIs.
  • Prepare proposals, schedules, budgets, reports and correspondence.
  • Oversee quality control, risk management and SOP development.

What You Will Do

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

With little or no supervision, acts as Owner Agent to provide construction management and inspection services for a wide variety of projects that may include, transportation and transit facilities. Performs assignments that may not be clearly defined and requires the development of construction documents, procedures, and criteria. Performs oversight of multiple projects simultaneously.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following
  • Conducts and documents project meetings with clients.
  • Manages construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
  • Negotiates and approves construction change orders.
  • Responds to Requests for Information (RFIs)
  • Prepares proposals and presentations.
  • Prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets.
  • Prepares and issues reports and correspondence.
  • Approves quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
  • Approves construction payment applications.
  • Resolves technical issues.
  • Performs constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
  • Leads Risk Management assessments.
  • Prepares and monitors Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
  • Develops Standard Operating Procedures.
Education | Experience:
What You Will Bring To Our Firm
  • 10-15 years’ experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6 preferred
  • 10-hour OSHA Safety course
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Must possess a driver’s license to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $140,000- $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
