JMT's Pittsburgh Construction Management Team is seeking a Technical Assistant primarily for PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike projects. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities, focusing on structural quality, safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.

Note: This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship, except for TN visa classification.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
2. Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
3. Measure dimensions and verify levels, alignments, and elevations of structures, fixtures, grades, and pavements to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
4. Gather and maintain record documents.
5. Make field notes and perform computations.

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

1. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

1. Computer proficiency.
2. Active driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
3. Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening.

Required Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent (may be substituted for experience).

Preferred Experience

1. Client-requested certifications.
2. Construction inspection experience.
