DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be instrumental in reviewing completed documentation and materials to ensure compliance with Department policies. You will assist in managing and coordinating the District's field construction project records, utilizing tools such as the Computer Documentation System (CDS v3), ECMS, and the PennDOT Project Collaboration Center (PPCC) on a PennDOT-issued iPad. Your duties will encompass conducting technical reviews of material costs for highway and bridge projects, performing audits to verify the accuracy of documentation and work orders submitted by Project Management, and ensuring that the final quantities and costs reported by construction personnel are accurate. Furthermore, you will aid in inspecting road and bridge construction activities to confirm adherence to plans, specifications, and contractual obligations, while also supporting the placement and maintenance of work zone traffic control signs and devices in line with the Work Zone Traffic Control Plan. You will verify stakeouts, elevations, grades, slopes, excavation, and the placement and compaction of materials to facilitate the processing of periodic progress payments. Additionally, you will assist with material testing for project integration and gather necessary delivery documentation and certifications. Collaboration with construction teams to address audit findings and resolve discrepancies in payments, documentation, and calculations will also be part of your responsibilities. You will participate in training to enhance your skills in construction and material inspection and may provide temporary assistance to District Units as needed, including contributing to the review of earthwork analysis for borrow excavation projects.
